Yard & Coop

Yard and Coop have just opened on Merrion Street and if you like fried chicken it’s THE place to be! Offering a wide range of food from ‘Dr Pepper BBQ drumsticks’ to their ‘winner winner chicken dinner’ large plate, honestly they are the holy grail of buttermilk-fried chicken in Leeds! I would highly recommend their ‘Buff Daddy’ burger and ‘Double Mac’ burger, which instead of being inside a bun, comes inside a mac-n-cheese sandwich... need I say more? For sides, this was tricky to decide because there were just too many to choose from, but, a personal favourite was the ‘not chicken nuggets’ which are little fried halloumi bites and were delicious, working perfectly to accompany the burgers.

If you’re a gin lover, that’s just one more reason to get yourself down to Yard and Coop they have (alongside a seriously innovative cocktail menu) a gin menu that includes my personal favourite the ‘Rhu Dogg’ which is a mixture of bulldog gin and rhubarb liquor and is the perfect starter/accompany/main/side/however you decided to drink it, mouthwatering beverage. If you don’t like gin then they have other uniquely named cocktails such as the ‘Illy Vanilli’, which involves baileys, espresso liquor and chocolate.

I genuinely can not recommend Yard and Coop enough, I had a lovely evening of food and drinks, the atmosphere is so inviting and friendly with staff who genuinely care about the food they are presenting, such as what goes into it, where it comes from, its sustainability and of course its delicious taste.
