REVIEW

REVOLUCION DE CUBA

Revolucion De Cuba has recently launched their brand-new Cuban-style themed menu to Leeds and I was so excited to check it out for myself.

Arriving on a busy but not crowded Thursday evening, a friend and I were politely taken to a free table and handed a paper menu full of their reasonably priced mains and small tapas dishes.

I was instantly impressed with the variety of food and drink on offer, as they cater for all preferences and palates (Vegetarians and vegans welcome).

As I sipped on a glass of crisp Pinot Grigio and swayed to the sounds of salsa, I noticed the vibrant décor and neon signs, all of which gave the restaurant an authentic and fun feel suitable for any occasion.

Once we had chosen two delicious sounding mains, (which was a struggle, due to them all sounding scrummy) we waited no longer than 20 minutes before tucking in, and what a delightful experience it was.

The Cuban cheese burger is most definitely one to get your chops around, with its melting Manchego cheese and rum mayo, it’s a real treat for burger lovers everywhere.

For diners who appreciate something a tad more refined with a taste of the sea, the grilled Swordfish accompanied by charred peppers and crispy patatas is a fine choice to order. Our plates were practically licked clean as we swiftly moved onto the cocktail menu.

As the evening grew busier, the impeccable service remained, so we surprisingly never found ourselves waiting with an empty glass, which is brilliant when you have such an impressive selection of tasty cocktails to try. If Tequila is your tipple of choice then their Margarita is definitely the one for you, not too bitter with just the right amount of salt on the rim, perfectly refreshing to enjoy before, during or after you’ve experienced the taste of Cuba.

Comfortably sat in a setting with a buzz, we found ourselves enjoying the array of delicious cocktails a little too much, which was a perfect start to a ‘thirsty Thursday’. This venue will certainly be our number one choice for pre-dinner and drinks on occasions worth celebrating.

I would highly recommend Revolucion De Cuba to all food lovers looking for a place that feeds the soul as well as the stomach. If you want something more than just good grub, then look no further, as Revs De Cuba creates an exciting and uplifting ambience, giving you a real taste of something special.
