Lamb & Flag
After the Lamb and Flag’s recent refurb I was fortunate enough to be invited to sample their updated menu and to have a look around the venue to see the changes that had been made. With its cosy, relaxed vibe this country pub right in the heart of the city allowing you to escape the hustle and bustle of the town centre.
Whilst browsing the menu I was spoilt for choice but after much contemplation and recommendations from the highly experienced staff I decided upon my meals for the evening, I opted for the ham hock hash, with pea purée and poached hens egg to start and for main I chose the pan fried sea bass fillet, with crushed new potatoes, wilted greens and lemon caper butter, both dishes were stunning and packed with flavour.
In anticipation of another long hot summer the spacious courtyard has received a high spec upgrade, the furniture replaced with stylish outdoor seating and an addition of a large BBQ.
The Lamb and Flag is to host weekly BBQs which I expect will be a huge success. The Lamb and Flag is part of the Leeds Brewery family and have a wide range of ales and draught beers to enjoy on those warm days.
Inside has been decorated sympathetically to compliment the 19th century features of the building, with dark wood furnishings, warm lighting and exposed brick work throughout.
The new and improved function room is equipped with its own bar, plenty of seating and a lovely view of the Leeds parish church and surrounding gardens. The Lamb and Flag is well worth keeping in mind for any up coming event or get togethers you have.
